Weather

Napier is renowned for its balmy Mediterranean climate with long hot summers and mild winters.

The pleasant and settled weather is one of the main reasons why the region is so well known for producing great wine and food.

  • Summer temperatures range from 20°C to 30°C (maximum daytime).

  • Winter temperatures are between 5°C to 15°C.

  • Annual sunshine hours averaging about 2200 hours each year.

  • The hottest months are December, January and February.

  • The midday summer solar radiation index (UVI) is often very high so make sure you wear plenty of sunscreen and keep your sunhats and sunglasses close at hand.
